A very busy week!

Gee, this last week just blew by! I went to the Relient K and Switchfoot concert with the Youth Group Wednesday night. Andrew went with us too. We had a great time. Both bands were great. What an uplifting evening. And, it’s always fun to be with high school kids!

The next night I went to the “Chefs Auction” with my friends Cathy and Christie. I saw a lot of friends whom I haven’t seen in a while. Most notably, Lloyd Winnecke, the friend responsible for the Gilligan’s Island DVD set which was the inspiration for the homily I gave at church on Sunday. Yes, somehow the Professor and Marianne worked themselves into a sermon.

I’ve also been busy getting ready for the Chrysalis weekend which is rapidly approaching. Three days with 100 high school kids! Not to mention three days with about 30 of the best adults on the planet. I can’t wait! Thank you so much for praying for the weekend. Your prayers can move mountains!

On top of all this activity, I prepared the sermon for Laity Sunday. It is, after all, among the responsibilities of the Lay Leader to do so. But I was very eager to share the message of God’s faithfulness. I was humbled and honored to be in the pulpit. Now I’m looking forward to doing the same on the Chrysalis weekend. Please pray for Randy and me as we give the “Faith” talk on Friday afternoon. In fact, pray for all the speakers, the leaders, and most of all the kids who are experiencing Chrysalis for the first time! God is good!

Hmmm…I think I’ll end this blog on the positive note and tell you the “other stuff” in the next entry. Perhaps I’ll end with these words from “Switchfoot”….”this is your life…are you who you want to be?”

Much Agape,
Ann

    Dear Ann,

I have worked 23 years in oncology. I have seen many amazing things in that time. We still have patients coming that was being seen when I started in the 1980s. I wish you the best of luck. A positive attitude and laughter helps a lot. From your notes I beleive that you have this wonderful gift of enjoying everything around you. God Bless You Again.

    Dear Ann, Randy and family,
We recently found your Website to catch up on your situation. After a thorough review we are overwhelmed by your witness
and faith, and are praying for you daily. It’s been a long time since your precious “little ones” sang for me (Treva) in the
cherub choir at Aldersgate. But, we can tell you that we also have one hilarious cat and a few stories of family health crises.
After the fact, we could see that God was in charge, even though our faith weakened considerably during the trials. You
know the Footprints in the Sand message. We are…Your newest “prayer warriors”, Treva and Alan Miles
